PVCW started in 2008 under the name MadBour as a 14U girls team. In 2009, the team went from the name Madbour to Ligers. The same year, the team won a silver medal at the Alberta Volleyball Provincials in the 15U girls category in Division III. To finish off the 2009 season, the Ligers won the Western National title in Division 4 with a 8-1 record beating Winnipeg in the final.
In 2010, the 16U girls Ligers won a silver medal in Division 2 at provincials finishing 18th in the province over 56 teams. The same year, the team took 4th place in Division 2 at the Eastern National Championship in Sherbrooke and 4th place in the Division 3 Tier II at the Western National title after competing in 2 premiers in the division I.
In 2012, the Ligers went from 1 team to 2 teams: one 14U girls team and one 18U girls team who participated in the first one venue National Championship in Toronto.
In 2013, the Ligers volleyball club had 2 teams: a 14U and a 15U both girls teams. But the end of 2013 ended on a sign of changes as the club decided to become a non-profit organization and apply for a casino license. To do so, the club went from the name Ligers to PVC which stand for Plamondon Volleyball Club. The goal behind the move is to offer affordable fees to practice club volleyball and to offer specialize equipment to our coaches which will help them improve the skills of our athletes.
So in 2014, we had 3 teams : a 15U girls, a 16U girls and a 15U boys. In 2015, we are proud to have 3 programs again: a 15U girls, a 17U girls, a 17U boys and potentially a 15U boys.
In 2015, PVC had 3 teams again : a 15U girls, a 17U girls and a 17U boys. Both girls team had huge success at Nationals in Calgary with both team winning a silver medal in Division 2, Tier III. Also, the 17U girls won the consolation final at the Premier #3.
The 2016 year was a growing one for the club with 5 teams in our club : PVC Survivors (15U girls), PVC Power (16U Girls), PVC Mako (18U girls), PVC Predators (15U boys) and PVC Pipe (17U boys). For the first time in our history, we offered scholarship to all our graduates who applied for it. They each received $250. Also, in march we had players from the U of A Pandas and Bears running a private camp with our athletes. Congratulations to PVC Mako who won a medal at Provincials winning the consolation side.
2017 was one of the most successful year in our club history. Again, the club had 5 teams : 15U girls, 17U girls, 18U girls, 16U boys and 18U boys. The 17U girls, coached by Doug Webster and Sheri Bencharsky went on to win bronze at provincials and winning gold at Nationals with a perfect 9-0 record in Division 3. The 16U boys went on to won 2 silver medals: one at the second premier in Division II earning them the right to play in Division I for the third premier. Finally, the boys won silver medal at Provincials in Division II.
In 2018, we had 5 teams: 14U girls team, 16U girls team, 18U girls team, 17U boys teams and a 17U boys team. The 18U girls team won silver at Premier 3 in Division 3. The 14U girls team won a silver medal at Nationals in the Tier 4 division. The 16U girls team won a gold medal in the Tier 3 division. Congrats to all the teams.
In 2019, we had 3 teams: 18U boys team, 16U girls team and 18U girls team. The 18U girls team travalled to Toronto to attend Nationals and the 16U girls team went to Regina to attend Nationals.
For 2020, PVC intend to send all their teams to Nationals as it will be in Edmonton.
In the fall of 2022, PVC combine with Wolfpack Volleyball Club creating the new club name PVCW. We had 7 teams . For the girls, we had the following levels : 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U and 18U. In the boys category, we had the following levels : 15U and 18U. The 17U girls team and the 18U girls team won gold at Nationals in their respective Tier. For both boys team, they ended up finishing in the top teams in the province while finishing the season in the Division I catagory.
